Hello, we are Luka Andjelic and Austin Zhu, founder and heads of Lisgar Sports Analytics Society. We welcome you to join us in our discovery of the commonly underrated, yet influential side of sports. We started this organization in hopes of restoring Lisgar of its previous athletic greatness, yet its popularity let us expand it to a place where everyone is welcome to just discuss news and trends in the sporting world. People often do not realize that statistics can be collected on nearly everything in sports, from contested shot percentage in basketball to distance ran in soccer to shot location in hockey. Through quantitative analysis, teams can improve their productivity by using specific plays or players that are shown to have higher efficiency. When strategizing, our statistical analysis provide live feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the team's performance, so that the coach may implement immediate and effective changes to emphasize on the positive while hiding the negative aspects of the team. We are proud to say that we are one of the few clubs who has the ability to bring the nerds and the jocks together to create something meaningful for our school community.
